Right In Front of Own Eyes

Our elected representatives are cheating right in front of your eyes. They are cheating with insider information on their respective stock trades.

I follow Quiver Quantitative on Twitter and they are incredible. They track congressional stock trades and how the information that the congressperson has/had at the time of the trade. I'm going to list a few below just so you have some idea of how deep it runs.....

Senator Tina Smith (MN) bought $250k of stock in a company called Tactile Systems. It's a medical device company based in Minnesota who's stock has risen 50%. Senator Smith sits on the Senate Committee on Health.

The U.S. just announced last week a pause on the approval of liquified natural gas exports to some countries. Rep. Maria Salazar recently sold up to $100k of stock in the liquified natural gas company Cheniere Energy. Salazar sits on the House Foreign Affairs committee.

The government recently announced it is partnering with Nvidia on a new AI research program. Nancy Pelosi recently bought up yo $5M of Nvidia call options. Nvidia stock has now risen over 26%.

The Dysfunction of Plurality in Government

For the entirety of my life, when voting for President, I have been given the lesser of two evils. And I can only recall one election cycle that had a serious third party candidate; 1992 Ross Perot.

Perot scared the establishment so badly that there hasn't been a real threat to the establishment since. Not by a long shot.

One thing that both the GOP and the DNC agree on is that THEY will decide who get elected and whom does not. That's called the Uniparty. There's essentially no difference between Dems and Republicans any more. For instance, if you take away the hot button issues that the general public seems to get hung up on....abortion, gun control, climate change etc. you will see what I mean.

People in this country vote the way they are taught to vote. This is either accomplished by their parents, their religion, or the media. But my belief is the vast majority of people who vote cannot articulate why they are voting for a given candidate. And most will cast their vote based on a single fucking issue. It's truly maddening

Here's my suggestion and, in fact, my ultimate desire for the American voter: Stop looking at American politics through the lens of the two-party system!! Branch out. Do some research to find candidates outside the establishment that fits what you desire in your representation. We cannot continue to vote for two devils and choosing the "better" devil to lead the country.

How Do We Get Out of This Mess?

Here we are in 2024 and things are already getting worse, depending on your perspective.

How do we get better/ get out of this mess? Is that even an option at this point?

There are some very large issues within our federal government that have never been addressed.

One, we need term limits. The problem: The same people who are currently sitting in congress would be the ones to approve said term limits. They would be term limiting themselves. Likely not going to happen, at least in my lifetime. There is an option of an amendment to the Constitution but that might be an even bigger hill to climb; though very worthwhile. I believe that a much easier first step is passing an age restriction on both congress and POTUS. One only needs to look at our current President to see that age IS an issue with him. Most days I honestly don't know how he stands up straight.

Two, the people currently in office have been in office far too long! But why?

Money. Power. Influence. Ego. Self-importance. Take you pick. The lobbying issue is one of the top 3 issues in this country I feel. If we were to remove or drastically reduce the lobby money, I believe that we would see a change in how long people stay in elected office, and would very likely see a change in the way some of these folks vote on key topics.

Three, the censorship in this country is moving at an alarming rate. If the things you say don't match with the "fact checkers", or the social narrative your video, your post, or you meme (yes, meme) gets taken down.

Some of ya'll are just now learning that the COVID bullshit of 2020-2022 was in large part, made up. (see Fauci and his testimony to congress) The conspiracy theorists are becoming the new go-to for news rather than the traditional news sources. They've been correct more than they have been wrong on a wide array of topics.

An uninformed society is an easy manipulated society.

Think about these things and others going forward and ask yourself, "Why?"

2024 and The Never-ending Train Wreck

I haven't been on here for some time......

I have been doing videos in place of this blog. But I felt it was time to get back on the wagon and get some thoughts down on paper as it were.

Going forward I will try and add a video to this blog and combine the two media forms.

So......

2024 has already been a fucking train wreck and we're not even out of the first month. Some of the things I will be writing about and things that seem to be top priority in the "news":

  • Censorship by The State
  • Misinformation by The State
  • Lies by The State
  • $34T debt
  • Lack of honesty/integrity in journalism
  • Octogenarians in congress
  • Racial division
  • DEI (see: racism)
  • LGBTQ
  • An overall lack of accountability in society
  • Congressmen/women trading stocks with insider information
This is enough to keep me busy for a while. I will not be touching on many social issues because I see them as non-organic and a mere distraction to the real problems we are currently facing in this country. There are things that matter and things that matter to a minority of people. While I don't intend to attempt to rank these issues, there are some that will take precedence. (More on that later)

So buckle up as we go on this roller coaster ride together. It's going to interesting if nothing else.
