Why Christmas Is The Worst Holiday

Christmas is the WORST holiday.......there's honestly not even a close second.

Here's why....

1.) It brings out the very worst in human beings when this alleged joyous time of year should bring out the best in people. We have all seen (and possibly witnessed) the herding of cattle into big box stores in order to compete physically for the latest toy, video game and fashion trends. This is done from a spirit of giving, which in and of itself is a good thing. But our desire to compete and win takes over at some point and and the "good will toward men" goes straight out the window. People have actually throw punches over the possession of a child's toy! Just think about that fact for a moment.....At what point did the amount of money a person is able to spend equate to their love for a child or their spouse? It's complete;y ridiculous.
Not to mention that the majority of us don't need anything given to us. I have a job and I work hard and if I want something, I will go buy it or save up the money to buy at a later date.

2.) It really centers around the age-old tradition of gift giving.  And it's this thought of receiving presents that most of us do not need that is the core of my issues with Christmas. It's about "my" stack of presents being exactly the same size as "yours". Heaven forbid that Little Jenny not get the same number of presents (that they DO NOT need) as Little Jimmy! Our glutenous appetite for Christmas presents honestly makes my stomach turn. 
I am typically considered a Scrooge because of my dislike of Christmas, and am often referred to as The Grinch. Although I think this caricature is inaccurate, it's closer to the truth than not. 

How about we try this.......?

Let's forego ALL Christmas presents and take the money that we would have spent on toys and clothing that will end up lost, or broken and let's give it the people who REALLY need it; the homeless, the poor, and orphaned children.
Is there seriously anyone who cannot get on board with this?

The picture and quote above fully explain my life-long gift of being able to separate myself from people who do not have my best interests at heart.
In this dubious list are family members, ex-girlfriends, old classmates, and people whom I mistakenly took for friends instead of acquaintances. 

I do not have the time nor the inclination to baby sit those who want to "need" me as a second option or a plan B in their lives. I fully believe my short leash with humans is that I assume good will on the front end and wait for a person to show me their true colors or be a dick or whatever. At that point  the leash is severed and the person who wronged me is turned loose on the rest of humanity.

I do not give second chances, I do forgive, but I never forget.
