Our Political Train Wreck
I have been watching the impeachment proceedings of President Donald Trump now for the past few days. And as I watch the thing unfold I cannot help but feel as if I'm at the circus and a lion has gotten loose and attacked the lion tamer. It is a complete and utter train wreck and a circus.
The partisanship that currently lives and even thrives within our halls of Congress is sickening. And what's worse it creates a log jam in which neither party is willing to work with the other party. Gridlock.
I did not vote for President Trump, nor did I vote for President Obama.
NEITHER party has all the right answers, and I believe that the majority of people in America fall somewhere in the middle on most issues. (We only hear about the issues that drive ratings)
And regardless of whether or not you believe Trump should be impeached, and or removed from office, the lack of simple cooperation for no other reason than the letter following a person's last name is killing any significant progress in our country.
I've asked myself multiple times over the past few weeks, "How do we get out of this mess?" I have yet to come up with an answer that makes any sense or seems doable. But what I am certain of is that the garbage that is taking place on a daily basis in D.C. is continuing to solidify my belief that our two party system is doomed to fail.
I mean, there's GOT to be some common sense somewhere, right?
Maybe not.....but here's hoping
